Floating I 35 x 45 cm / 14" x 18" by Ebba Jahn

Photo: Ebba Jahn

End of 2014 I started using tempera paints - powdered pigments mixed with binders by myself.

I started out with "dry" bold brushstokes, while following an inner rhythm.

In June 2015 tons of dead fish were floating on Berlin's waterways.
I dedicated the painting, which was already titled FLOATING to the scandal.

As of today, it is called FLOATINGS and detached from the scandal mentioned above.
It is an expressive, contemporary bold brush work with an organic feeling, also available in my shop at Artfinder or by mail.

It's painted with selfmade paints, pigments with a binder mix on paper. In the detail photo you can see the brushstroke style quite well. The paper was cut and woven. This one keeps its loose ends as shown in the first photo, laying on natural white paper. It is prepared to hang on a wall without the white.
For those who prefer it framed that is possible too. As soon as we know the hanging preference the tiny white ends you might detect on the first photo will get a 5 mm cut.
Day 5 of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge had to be the day to finish this one, which was already in the works...
