From the Canary Islands comes the 3rd Lacuna Festivals for Contemporary Art, with this year's theme Distance and it will mainly have to take place online, but if you are on Lanzarote or Fuerteventure you will find some art events there as well. Check www.lacunafestivals.com for ALL events, programs and infos.

It's my second year with them - 3 works were possible per artist and these videos all fit with the theme in their own way. The 4th, Celestial Particular, was entered as poem video by Dwayne Jahn.

   Vor einem Jahr während unserer größten Paper Pairs Ausstellung im Q 18 entstanden, kehrt das nun fertiggestellte halbstündige Video mit Ebba Jahn zurück, um es im Großformat projeziert beteiligten Künstler*innen und Kunstinteressierten zu zeigen.
Paper Pairs Originale in Portfolios liegen auch aus und laden zum Blättern ein, Hintergrundgeschichten werden gern erzählt.. In diesem minimalistischen Video folgt der vielseitige Posaunist Paul Hubweber einer Einladung, die PAPER PAIRS konzertierend abzuschreiten und sich für  sein Posaunen Solo inspirieren zu lassen.
"His masterful control of any timbral aspect of the instrument guarantees music that transcends the trombone itself to become a soulful expression..." (Massimo Ricci).
Drei Künstler*innen - Kameras blicken dabei auf ihn, in der Videomontage verbunden mit der Kunst von 24 Künstler*innen aus Deutschland, Holland und New York von Ebba Jahn.

Für diese Ausstellung hat Ebba Jahn ihr bekannte KünstlerInnen eingeladen, zwei abstrakte Arbeiten auf Papier im Format ca. 40 cm x 30 cm zu zeigen - Paper Pairs / Papierpaare.
Zusammengekommen ist eine Vielfalt an Bildern in Ausdruck, Formen und Farben - gemalt mit  Aquarell, Acryl und Ölfarben, auch Mischtechniken aus Papier, Graphit und anderen Materialien wie Rotwein und Rost.
Obwohl abstrakt finden sich in den Arbeiten das Meer, Landschaften, Kunstgeschichte, Organisches, Geometrie, Bewegung, Stille und Gedanken wieder- die Paper Pairs treten miteinander und den Betrachtern in einen visuellen Dialog...

 "Organic" is part of my present daily practice of creating a contemporary abstract work for this
"in 21 x 30 cm Mount" series.

The earthy tones, a bright yellow and orange, layers and texture as well as the interesting overall shape of this watercolor painting makes it a god fit for this series.

The mount / passepartout has a natural white color (acid-free) with a very light structue, and an angled clean cut of . It fits into a standard frame for Din A 4 / 21 x 30 cm / ca. 8.5" x 12".
I'll add a hanger which can be attached to the back of the mount for immediate hanging.

Day 14's title is made up of the square format and Aquarelle, the French and German word for specific watercolor paints. "Squarelle" might remind some of a landscape and  that's fine...

Day 13 ​of the 30 day painting challenge comes on a watercolored paper postcard, matted in a natural white folding passepartout, which shows the original colors better than the close-up photo. The genre might be "abstract", but it sorted itself into the genre "landscape" at the Daily Paintworks Gallery  -

Day 8 of the challenge. Today I like the raw look of the weaving on the left, but it can also be certainly framed, even closer than on the right side, and the underground could be changed as well. After trying different undergrounds I finally stay with the darkblue for now.

#34's paper is coated with acrylic paint giving it a gray brushstroke underground, the passepartout is not in a bleached white but natural white. Woven Painintg #34 is mounted in white frame under glass.

Slowly I'm reaching the goal of 100 miniature paintings. Here you see all those fitting into the new velvet case. Sold so far are the red with black and purplish blue in the second last row, and the one next to its right side in ocre blackblue and red.
